I would like to take this opportunity to thank EPOS for allowing me to organize and oversee all teaching activities over the past four years.
At the end of the EPOS BAT Trilogy Part I, March 2022 course, I will pass the torch to Sebastian Farr, MD who will take the reins of the EPOS Education Committee for the upcoming three years.
I am sure that he will further improve the level of education, and that the EPOS Community will appreciate his skills, competences and human qualities.

Important information related to Covid-19 when attending to EPOS onsite courses in 2022 -updated December 2021-
Course Destination: Geneva, Switzerland
“Health pass”* is requested by the venues and every participant entering in the venue premises need to be able to demonstrate of having one.
*What is the “Health Pass”? Three scenarios:
a) Vaccinated Persons: Valid EU Digital COVID Certificate or similar including a QR code.
b) Cured Persons: COVID certificate after being cured from COVID-19 issued by participant’s local Health Authorities.
c) People who tested negative: PCR Test: 72 hours after sample collection.
d) People who tested negative: Rapid Antigen Test: 48 hours after sample collection.
Course Destination: Vienna, Austria
Only vaccinated or cured participants are allowed to attend a course.
If vaccinated twice or cured only than not longer than 6 months ago.
Please be also aware that the Covid-19 regulations vary between the countries and may change regularly and rather rapidly. Therefore, interested participants should keep themselves regularly informed when deciding to attend to EPOS onsite course(s).

EPOS ADVANCED COURSE ON CP: E-LEARNING EVENT
Venue: Virtual • Registration: currently OPENED
This is an e-learning course, which includes pre-recorded lessons, pre- and post-exams as well as one online “LIVE” day, which will include short wrap-ups of the topics to introduce interactive case discussions with some of the faculty members and the participants.
The live virtual day will be held on Friday 7th of January 2022. All the registered participants are invited to take part in this virtual live day.

EPOS ADVANCED PEDIATRIC ARTHROSCOPY CADAVER COURSE (2nd EDITION)
Venue: Swiss Foundation For Innovation And Training In Surgery (SFITS), Geneva, Switzerland • Registration: currently OPENED – only 40 places available and are filled with first comes first served basis.
The 2nd Edition of the EPOS Advanced – Cadaver-lab course is aimed at paediatric orthopaedic surgeons, but also fellows, willing to improve their surgical skills as well as their understanding of arthroscopic management of paediatric sports injuries. It is a unique hands-on opportunity to learn and practice the latest techniques, including paediatric/adolescent soft tissue and bony procedures.

7th EPOS BAT Instructional Course Trilogy, Part I
Venue: Orthopaedic Speising Hospital, Vienna, Austria • Registration: will be opened during December 2021
ONSITE course is now confirmed with a limited number of participants due to COVID-19. The current maximum number of accepted participants is set to 80 (December 2021). The places will be filled in with first comes first served basis and due to a high demand of this course, we are unable to accept pre-registrations.

EPOS Advanced Course – Motion Analysis for Pediatrics Orthopaedic Surgeons
In collaboration with the European Society of Motion Analysis in Adults and Children (ESMAC)
Venue: Orthopaedic Hospital Speising, Vienna, Austria • Registration: will open in the beginning of 2022 • Pre-registration list: if you would like to pre-register for the course before we officially open the registration, please email to courses@epos.org and we will inform you personally once the registration opens.
The course is aimed at paediatric orthopaedic surgeons, residents and fellows who want to improve their understanding of the multiple roles of motion analysis in modern paediatric orthopaedic surgery. The course will not focus on neuromuscular disease only and is not intended to replace a traditional gait course. Several renewed experts in the field will deliver lectures addressing all aspects of motion analysis, from the traditional complete 3D gait analysis up to basic tools that may help the paediatric orthopaedic surgeon in clinical and surgical patient management.

The course is aimed at paediatric orthopaedic surgeons, residents and fellows who want to improve their understanding of paediatric hand and upper extremity surgery. Several renewed experts in the field will deliver multiple lectures addressing all aspect of hand upper extremity pathologies, including diagnosis, surgical treatment and management of complications. The program will include congenital, posttraumatic deformities and obstetrical brachial plexus palsy topics.

This event is aimed at paediatric orthopaedic surgeons, residents and fellows who want to improve their understanding and skills in lower limb deformity correction. Several renewed experts in the field will deliver multiple lectures addressing all aspect of diagnosis, deformity planning, surgical treatment, and management of complications for common and rare paediatric deformities. The program will include congenital, posttraumatic and metabolic deformities.

POSNA-EPOS Travelling Fellowship 2020 postponed to spring 2022
Due to COVID-19, 2020 POSNA-EPOS Travelling Fellowship Programme was postponed by two years. The EPOS leadership together with POSNA has now decided to re-schedule the fellowship for spring 2022 with the previously accepted POSNA fellows.
That being said, EPOS keeps accepting new applications to the travelling fellowship programme but it is important to note that the applications which will received during 2022 will not be evaluated before autumn 2022 once the deadline is over on the 30 September 2022.
The 2020 EPOS-SLAOTI Travelling Fellowship remains postponed until otherwise decided by EPOS and SLAOTI.
Interested applicants can always submit their applications via an online form.
